Duman Tablet

Duman Tablet is a tablet formulation of dutasteride, with each tablet containing dutasteride as labelled. It belongs to the 5-alpha reductase inhibitor class. Duman Tablet is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also called an enlarged prostate, by helping improve urinary symptoms over time.

How it works: Dutasteride in Duman Tablet works by blocking the enzyme that turns testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that can make the prostate grow. By lowering DHT levels, this tablet can help shrink the enlarged prostate and improve urine flow over time.

Because Duman Tablet is the only strength/form listed, it should be used exactly as prescribed and is not meant to be split or substituted with another dutasteride product unless your doctor says so. Dutasteride tablets are typically chosen for ongoing prostate symptom control, and benefit is gradual rather than immediate, so your doctor may select Duman Tablet when a long-term option is appropriate.

• Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• Improving weak urine stream
• Reducing urinary frequency from enlarged prostate
• Helping lower the risk of BPH progression

• Swallow Duman Tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or split it.
• Take it at the same time each day if your doctor has prescribed regular daily use.
• You may take it with or without food.
• Do not use more tablets than prescribed, even if symptoms have not improved yet.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose; do not double up.
• Keep the tablet in its original strip/box until you are ready to take it.

Duman Tablet provides dutasteride as labelled per tablet, and the usual prescription schedule for dutasteride is once daily. The exact dose and duration are decided by your doctor, and there is no routine recommendation to take more than one tablet per day.

Do not change your dose or stop the medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Common side effects of Dutasteride may include:

• Decreased sex drive
• Erectile dysfunction
• Problems with ejaculation
• Breast tenderness or enlargement
• Mild dizziness
• Less commonly, reduced semen volume

• Duman Tablet is for enlarged prostate and is not for use in women or children.
• This tablet can be absorbed through the skin if the capsule or tablet is damaged; avoid handling broken tablets and wash hands after contact if needed.
• Do not donate blood while taking dutasteride and for at least 6 months after the last dose.
• Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, because dutasteride is processed by the liver.
• Dutasteride can affect PSA test results, so your doctor should know you are taking Duman Tablet before prostate screening.
• If you are having cataract surgery or any prostate evaluation, tell the healthcare team you use dutasteride.
• Use caution if you feel dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up quickly.

• Other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors such as finasteride
• Certain HIV medicines that affect liver enzymes, especially ritonavir
• Some antifungals such as ketoconazole
• Some antibiotics such as clarithromycin
• Other medicines that may lower blood pressure and worsen dizziness

Store Duman Tablet in a cool, dry place in its original strip/box, away from moisture and out of reach of children.
