Methotrexate

Methotrexate is a prescription medicine used in low doses to help manage certain inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis. It is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug, or DMARD, which means it helps reduce inflammation and slow joint damage over time.

It is used for rheumatoid arthritis and some other conditions, but it is not suitable for everyone. Methotrexate can cause serious side effects, including liver problems, low blood counts, and lung issues, so it must be taken exactly as prescribed with regular lab monitoring.
