OLmesar H 40 Tablet

OLmesar H 40 Tablet is a prescription blood pressure medicine that combines olmesartan medoxomil and hydrochlorothiazide in one tablet. Each OLmesar H 40 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. It belongs to the ARB plus thiazide diuretic class and is used to help lower high blood pressure (hypertension), which can reduce the risk of stroke and other heart-related problems when taken as prescribed.

How it works: Olmesartan blocks a hormone signal that tightens blood vessels, so the vessels relax and blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide helps your body remove extra salt and water through urine, which lowers blood volume and helps this tablet reduce blood pressure.

OLmesar H 40 Tablet is the higher-strength version of this combination, with olmesartan 40 mg plus hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg in each tablet. Because of the 40 mg olmesartan dose, it is usually chosen for patients whose blood pressure needs stronger control or who are moving up from a lower dose after a doctor’s review. It is not meant for self-adjusting treatment, since the right strength depends on your blood pressure response, kidney function, and other medicines.

• Alcohol, which can worsen dizziness and low blood pressure
