Stator 40 Tablet contains 40 mg of atorvastatin in each tablet. It belongs to the statin class of medicines, which are used to help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL (“good”) cholesterol in some people. Stator 40 Tablet is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems in people who need cholesterol-lowering treatment. This strength is a moderate-to-higher dose and is not the same as lower-strength Stator 10 Tablet or Stator 20 Tablet.
How it works: Atorvastatin in Stator 40 Tablet blocks an enzyme your liver uses to make cholesterol, so the liver removes more LDL from the blood. Because this is a tablet, the medicine is swallowed and absorbed systemically to help lower cholesterol over time.
Stator 40 Tablet is an as-labelled 40 mg strength, which is stronger than Stator 10 Tablet and Stator 20 Tablet, but lower than Stator 80 Tablet. A doctor may choose Stator 40 Tablet for someone who needs a stronger cholesterol-lowering effect than lower strengths can provide, based on lab results and heart-risk history. It is not meant to be started or adjusted on your own.
Each Stator 40 Tablet provides 40 mg of atorvastatin per tablet. It is usually taken once daily, but the exact dose and whether 40 mg is right for you are decided by your doctor based on your cholesterol levels, other medicines, and treatment goals. The maximum atorvastatin dose is generally 80 mg per day, and patients should not change the dose on their own.
Do not change your dose or stop the medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Store Stator 40 Tablet at room temperature in its original strip or box, protected from moisture and heat.
Stator 40 Tablet is used to lower cholesterol, especially LDL cholesterol, and to help reduce triglycerides in people who need statin therapy. It may also be prescribed to lower the risk of heart attack and stroke when a doctor thinks a stronger cholesterol-lowering dose is needed.
Take Stator 40 Tablet by mouth once daily, with or without food, unless your doctor gives different instructions. Swallow the tablet whole with water and take it at the same time each day to help you remember.
Stator 40 Tablet is a moderate-to-higher strength compared with Stator 10 Tablet and Stator 20 Tablet, and it is below Stator 80 Tablet. Doctors may choose this strength when a lower dose is not enough, but it should only be used when prescribed for you.
Common side effects can include muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and headache. Get urgent medical help if you develop severe muscle pain or weakness, dark urine, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or signs of an allergic reaction.
