Novastat 10 Tablet

Novastat 10 Tablet is a prescription cholesterol-lowering medicine containing rosuvastatin 10 mg in each tablet. It belongs to the statin class and is used to help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol, and reduce triglycerides. Novastat 10 Tablet is also used in some people to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems when diet and exercise alone are not enough. Because it is a 10 mg strength, it is a mid-range tablet often chosen after a doctor assesses cholesterol levels and overall heart risk.

How it works: Rosuvastatin in Novastat 10 Tablet blocks an enzyme in the liver that the body uses to make cholesterol. This helps the liver remove more LDL cholesterol from the blood and lowers the amount of harmful fat circulating in the body.

Novastat 10 Tablet provides 10 mg rosuvastatin per tablet, which is stronger than lower starting strengths and may be suitable for patients who need more than a minimal dose but do not require a higher-intensity tablet. Compared with Novastat 20 Tablet, this strength may be easier to tolerate for some people and gives the prescriber more room to adjust treatment based on response and side effects. A doctor may choose Novastat 10 Tablet when a moderate rosuvastatin dose fits the patient’s cholesterol goals and medical history.

• Swallow Novastat 10 Tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

• Use caution if you have diabetes or are at risk for diabetes, since statins may slightly raise blood sugar in some people.

• Gemfibrozil and other fibrates
• Certain HIV medicines and HCV protease inhibitors
• Warfarin and other blood thinners
• Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium

Store Novastat 10 Tablet in its original strip or box at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct light.
