Olmax 40 Tablet

Olmax 40 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg in each tablet. It belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), which are used to treat high blood pressure. By helping relax blood vessels, Olmax 40 Tablet can lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart and blood vessels. It is a prescription medicine made by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, India, and is supplied in a strip/box of 10 tablets.

How it works: Olmesartan medoxomil in Olmax 40 Tablet blocks angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels. This helps blood vessels stay more relaxed and open, which lowers blood pressure over time.

Olmax 40 Tablet is a higher-strength olmesartan tablet, so it is generally chosen for patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with lower strengths such as Olmax 20 Tablet or who have been specifically assessed by a doctor. Because it contains 40 mg per tablet, it may provide more blood-pressure-lowering effect than the 20 mg strength, but it is not meant to be started or adjusted on your own. A clinician may choose this strength based on your blood pressure readings, kidney function, and how you responded to a lower dose.

• Swallow Olmax 40 Tablet whole with water.
• Take it at the same time each day if your prescriber tells you to use it daily.

• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is close to the next dose; do not double up.

Each Olmax 40 Tablet provides 40 mg of olmesartan medoxomil per tablet. For adults, it is commonly taken once daily, but the exact dose and whether 40 mg is appropriate are decided by the prescribing doctor based on your response and medical history. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours unless your doctor specifically instructs otherwise.

• Avoid salt substitutes or potassium supplements unless your doctor says they are safe.

• Alcohol can add to dizziness and low blood pressure.
