Stamlo 10 mg Tablet contains 10 mg of amlodipine in each tablet. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and certain types of chest pain (angina). It works by helping blood vessels relax so blood can flow more easily. This specific strength is for patients whose doctor has determined they need the 10 mg dose rather than a lower strength.

How it works: Amlodipine in Stamlo 10 mg Tablet blocks calcium from entering the muscle cells in blood vessel walls, which helps the vessels widen. That lowers blood pressure and can reduce the heart’s workload and chest pain.

Stamlo 10 mg Tablet is the higher common tablet strength compared with Stamlo 5 mg Tablet, so it is usually chosen when a doctor feels the lower dose is not enough to control blood pressure or angina. It is not meant to be split into a lower starting dose unless your prescriber specifically tells you to do so. Like other amlodipine tablets, it does not work as an instant rescue medicine, so the benefit builds with regular daily use.

• Swallow Stamlo 10 mg Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Take it once daily at the same time each day unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

• If it makes you dizzy at first, rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.

• Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as clarithromycin, itraconazole, or ritonavir
• Grapefruit juice, which may increase amlodipine levels in some people
