Valent 80 Tablet

Valent 80 Tablet contains valsartan 80 mg in each tablet. It is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to help lower high blood pressure and to reduce strain on the heart. By helping relax blood vessels, Valent 80 Tablet can also be used in certain people with heart failure or after a heart attack when prescribed by a clinician. This Lupin, India tablet is a prescription medicine for long-term cardiovascular care, not an over-the-counter blood pressure remedy.

How it works: Valsartan in Valent 80 Tablet blocks angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels, so the vessels stay more relaxed and open. That makes it easier for the heart to pump blood and can lower blood pressure over time.

Valent 80 Tablet is the 80 mg strength, which sits above Valent 40 Tablet and below Valent 160 Tablet. Doctors may choose this mid-strength tablet when a lower dose is not enough but a higher dose is not yet needed, or when they want to adjust treatment step by step. Because it is a higher-strength valsartan tablet than Valent 40 Tablet, it is meant for patients whose blood pressure or heart condition has already been assessed by a doctor.

• Swallow Valent 80 Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Take it at the same time each day if your prescriber tells you to use it regularly.
• You may take Valent 80 Tablet with or without food.
• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet unless your doctor or pharmacist specifically says it is okay.
• If it makes you dizzy, stand up slowly from sitting or lying positions.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is close to the next dose; do not double up.

Each Valent 80 Tablet provides valsartan 80 mg per tablet. The number of tablets taken per day depends on the condition being treated, your blood pressure response, and other medicines you use; some patients take it once daily, while others may need a different schedule as directed by a doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed amount per day, because the correct dose must be individualized by your clinician.

• Potassium supplements and potassium-containing salt substitutes
• ACE inhibitors such as lisinopril or enalapril
• Diuretics or water pills that can lower blood pressure further
• NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen
• Lithium
