Eldtam 10 mg Tablet

Eldtam 10 mg Tablet is a prescription anti-cancer medicine that contains 10 mg of tamoxifen in each tablet. It belongs to the selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) class and is used in the treatment and prevention of certain hormone receptor-positive breast cancers. The Eldtam 10 mg Tablet is manufactured by Elder Pharmaceuticals, India, and is supplied in a strip/box of 10 packs. Because it is a 10 mg strength, it may be used as part of a doctor-directed treatment plan when a lower-strength tablet is preferred for dose adjustment.

How it works: Tamoxifen in Eldtam 10 mg Tablet blocks estrogen from attaching to certain receptors in breast tissue. This can help slow or stop the growth of estrogen-sensitive cancer cells.

Eldtam 10 mg Tablet is the lower of the two listed strengths, compared with Eldtam 20 mg Tablet. Doctors may choose the 10 mg tablet when they want more flexible dose splitting across the day, a step-up approach, or a dose that better matches the patient’s age, tolerance, or treatment plan. It does not work faster than the 20 mg tablet; it simply provides a smaller amount of tamoxifen per tablet for individualized dosing.

Each Eldtam 10 mg Tablet provides 10 mg of tamoxifen. The tablet may be taken once or twice daily, or in another schedule your doctor chooses based on your condition and treatment goals; the exact dose is individualized, and the maximum daily amount should not be increased on your own. Because this is a 10 mg strength, it is often useful when a clinician wants smaller, adjustable doses rather than the higher Eldtam 20 mg Tablet.

Store Eldtam 10 mg Tablet at room temperature in a dry place, away from heat, moisture, and direct light, and keep it in the original strip until use.
