Telmisartan is a prescription angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to help lower blood pressure. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily and the heart does not have to work as hard.
It is commonly used for high blood pressure and may help lower the risk of stroke or heart-related complications in some patients. Do not use during pregnancy, and tell your prescriber about kidney disease, liver problems, high potassium, or if you take other blood pressure medicines.
