Telmikind 40 Tablet

Telmikind 40 Tablet is an oral prescription tablet that contains telmisartan 40 mg in each tablet. Telmisartan belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It is used to treat high blood pressure and may also be prescribed to lower cardiovascular risk in selected patients. By helping relax blood vessels, Telmikind 40 Tablet can make it easier for the heart to pump blood.

How it works: Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels, so the vessels relax and blood can flow more easily. Because Telmikind 40 Tablet is an oral tablet, it delivers telmisartan systemically after swallowing and helps lower blood pressure over time.

Telmikind 40 Tablet is a medium-strength telmisartan tablet, higher than Telmikind 20 Tablet. A doctor may choose Telmikind 40 Tablet when 20 mg is not enough to control blood pressure, or when a patient needs a dose that fits a stepped treatment plan. It is not meant for self-adjusting dose changes without medical guidance.

• Swallow Telmikind 40 Tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it unless your prescriber says otherwise.

Each Telmikind 40 Tablet contains telmisartan 40 mg. The usual frequency may be once daily, but the exact dose and whether it should be increased or combined with another medicine is decided by the doctor. Do not take more than prescribed; many patients are not meant to exceed 80 mg per day of telmisartan from all sources.

• Other blood pressure medicines, especially when combined and causing low blood pressure
• ACE inhibitors or aliskiren, which can raise the risk of kidney problems and high potassium in some patients
• Potassium supplements and potassium-containing salt substitutes
• NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen, which may reduce effect and affect the kidneys
• Diuretics or water pills, which can increase dizziness or dehydration

Store Telmikind 40 Tablet in its original strip/box at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct light.
