Lipikind 40 Tablet is an atorvastatin tablet, with each tablet containing atorvastatin 40 mg. It belongs to the statin class of medicines and is used to help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL (“good”) cholesterol. Lipikind 40 Tablet is also used to help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people who have, or are at higher risk for, cardiovascular disease.

Lipikind 40 Tablet is a higher-strength option compared with Lipikind 20 Tablet, so it is not usually the first choice for everyone. Doctors may choose Lipikind 40 Tablet when a stronger cholesterol-lowering effect is needed or when a patient has already been assessed and does not reach treatment goals with a lower dose.

• Cyclosporine
• Strong antibiotics or antifungals such as clarithromycin or itraconazole
• Certain HIV or hepatitis C medicines
• Gemfibrozil or other fibrates
• Large amounts of grapefruit juice
