Olmin 20 Tablet

Olmin 20 Tablet is a prescription medicine that contains 20 mg of olmesartan medoxomil in each tablet. It belongs to the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class, which is commonly used to treat high blood pressure. By helping lower blood pressure, Olmin 20 Tablet can also reduce the long-term risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems related to uncontrolled hypertension. It is made by Eris Lifesciences and comes as a pack of 10 tablets.

How it works: Olmesartan medoxomil is converted in the body to olmesartan, which blocks angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels. In tablet form, Olmin 20 Tablet is swallowed and then works through the bloodstream to help relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

Olmin 20 Tablet is a mid-strength option in the Olmin range, sitting between Olmin 10 Tablet and Olmin 40 Tablet. It may be chosen for people who need more blood-pressure lowering than 10 mg provides, but do not yet need the higher 40 mg strength. Because this is a stronger tablet than the starting dose for many patients, a doctor may select it after reviewing blood pressure response, age, kidney function, and other medicines.

• Swallow Olmin 20 Tablet whole with a glass of water.

Each Olmin 20 Tablet provides 20 mg of olmesartan medoxomil. • Alcohol may increase dizziness or fainting.

• Salt substitutes and potassium supplements may raise potassium levels too much.
• If you are older, frail, or already on a blood-pressure medicine, your doctor may monitor you more closely with this strength.

• NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen
• Potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium
• Diuretics or water pills
• Lithium
• Other blood pressure medicines, especially ACE inhibitors or aliskiren
