Olsar 20 Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg in each tablet. It belongs to the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class and is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. By helping lower blood pressure, Olsar 20 Tablet can reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems linked to uncontrolled hypertension.

How it works: Olmesartan medoxomil is changed in the body into its active form, which blocks angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels. In tablet form, Olsar 20 Tablet helps blood vessels relax and widen, making it easier for the heart to pump blood.

Olsar 20 Tablet is the middle strength in this brand range, sitting between Olsar 10 Tablet and Olsar 40 Tablet. It may be chosen for adults who need more blood-pressure control than 10 mg provides but do not yet need the higher 40 mg strength, and it is usually used under a doctor’s guidance based on response and tolerance.

• Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium unless your doctor approves.

• Other blood pressure medicines, especially diuretics or ACE inhibitors
• NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen, which can reduce effect and strain the kidneys
• Potassium supplements and potassium-sparing diuretics
• Lithium, which may reach unsafe levels
• Aliskiren in people with diabetes
