Repace 25 mg Tablet

Repace 25 mg Tablet is a prescription tablet that contains 25 mg of losartan in each tablet. Losartan belongs to a class of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs), which are used to treat high blood pressure and help protect the heart and kidneys in certain patients. Repace 25 mg Tablet may also be prescribed for selected people with heart failure or for kidney protection in diabetes when a doctor decides it is appropriate. It is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and supplied as a strip/box of 10 tablets.

How it works: Losartan in Repace 25 mg Tablet blocks angiotensin II, a natural substance that tightens blood vessels. By relaxing the blood vessels, this tablet helps lower blood pressure and reduces the strain on the heart.

Repace 25 mg Tablet is the lower-strength tablet in the Repace line, alongside Repace 50 mg Tablet and Repace 100 mg Tablet. Doctors may choose Repace 25 mg Tablet when a smaller dose is needed, when a patient is starting losartan cautiously, or when blood pressure, age, kidney function, or other medicines make a lower strength more suitable. It is not automatically interchangeable with the 50 mg or 100 mg tablet, because the correct strength depends on the individual treatment plan.

• High blood pressure

• Swallow Repace 25 mg Tablet whole with water.
• Take it at the same time each day if your doctor has prescribed it once daily.
• You may take it with or without food.
• Do not crush, chew, or split it unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you to do so.
• Keep taking it even if you feel well, because high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is almost time for the next dose; do not double up.

Each Repace 25 mg Tablet provides 25 mg of losartan per tablet. Your doctor may prescribe it once daily or adjust the schedule based on your blood pressure response, kidney function, and other medicines; the exact dose and whether it should be increased or continued is decided by the prescriber. Do not take more than the amount your doctor recommends, and do not use this strength as a substitute for a different prescribed strength.

Do not change your dose or stop the medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Common side effects of Losartan may include:

• Dizziness, especially when standing up
• Tiredness
• Headache
• Nasal congestion
• Back pain
• Low blood pressure symptoms, which may be more noticeable when starting Repace 25 mg Tablet or after a dose change

• Use extra caution if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart failure, or dehydration.
• Repace 25 mg Tablet can lower blood pressure too much if combined with alcohol or other blood pressure medicines.
• Do not use during pregnancy; losartan can seriously harm an unborn baby.
• Tell your doctor if you have a history of angioedema or swelling with blood pressure medicines.
• This tablet may cause dizziness, so be careful when driving or using machinery until you know how it affects you.
• Salt substitutes and potassium supplements can raise potassium levels when used with losartan.
• If you are taking diuretics, NSAIDs, or other heart medicines, your doctor may need to monitor you more closely.

• Potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium
• ACE inhibitors or aliskiren
• NSAID pain relievers such as ibuprofen or naproxen
• Diuretics or water pills
• Lithium
