Lipikind 20 Tablet

Lipikind 20 Tablet is a prescription tablet containing atorvastatin 20 mg in each tablet. It belongs to the statin class of medicines and is used to help lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol a little, and reduce triglycerides. Lipikind 20 Tablet is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart or blood vessel problems in people who need cholesterol-lowering treatment.

How it works: Atorvastatin in Lipikind 20 Tablet works by blocking an enzyme in the liver that helps make cholesterol. This causes the liver to remove more LDL cholesterol from the blood, which helps improve lipid levels and lower cardiovascular risk.

Lipikind 20 Tablet is the 20 mg strength, which is a moderate-dose option and is different from the higher Lipikind 40 Tablet. A doctor may choose this strength when a lower dose is not enough but a higher dose is not yet needed, or when a patient needs a step-up from a lower statin dose. Because it is an atorvastatin tablet rather than a rapid-acting medicine, the benefit is seen over time with regular use, not right away after one dose.
